Consumers opting for pieces of 'statement' platinum jewellery?

An increasing number of consumers may be choosing pieces of statement platinum jewellery that reflect their personality.

According to Rosanagh Wilson, stylist and image consultant at Onvu, people are opting to wear fewer pieces of jewellery, but ones that reflect their style.

She claims consumers are being more careful when picking jewellery and are using these accessories to reflect their personalities instead of their clothes.

"People are enjoying jewellery and choosing it quite carefully because it's a reflection of their taste," she said.

"Some people will go for something that's really big and showy because they're really flamboyant, while other people will use slightly more classic pieces."

Platinum jewellery may be a good option for a number of people because of its durability.

This is because Ms Wilson also noted consumers are thinking about how long a piece will last when choosing jewellery.

She said: "They're thinking of the longevity when they buy a piece of jewellery to update their look."
