They became engaged in April, when Prince Philip proposed with a platinum engagement ring made by the London jeweller Philip Antrobus Ltd. (of 6 Old Bond St.) using diamonds from a tiara belonging to Prince Philip’s mother.
Philip Antrobus also designed and made this bracelet for Prince Philip, which he gave to the then Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present. The platinum bracelet is set with old brilliants taken from a tiara that had belonged to Princess Andrew of Greece, mother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.Reportedly, the future prince popped the question while the couple enjoyed a quiet walk around the grounds of Balmoral.
Their wedding was broadcast on the BBC to around 200 million people around the world. Around 2,000 guests attended the ceremony.
It is estimated that over one billion people across the globe will tune in to watch the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday.
