Platinum 'the purest precious metal', expert claims

An expert has said that platinum is "the purest precious metal", which is why it is a good choice for bridal jewellery.

In a report by napsnet.com, Alison Rowe, fashion and jewellery editor for wedding magazine The Bride and Bloom, is quoted as saying: "Platinum is the purest precious metal, meaning it's naturally white, so it doesn't change color or fade".

She claims that, "Although platinum is often perceived as the most expensive metal, I've seen quite a few designers introduce new lines of accessibly priced platinum bridal jewellery, which offers the high quality without the high price tag."

According to the news provider, the fact that platinum is naturally white, means it will maximize the shine of any diamonds included in the bridal jewellery.

A number of celebrities have recently received platinum engagement rings, including LeAnn Rimes and Reese Witherspoon.
