All eyes will be on an auction in New York tomorrow as several historical pieces go under the hammer, including a platinum and diamond necklace once worn by Princess Diana.
Guerensey's iconic objects and documents auction will take place on Friday (September 24th) and will include items such as formal dinner plates used in John Kennedy's presidency in 1963 and the last ball to be hit for a home-run in the Old Yankee Stadium.
However, one of the stand out items on the list is the platinum jewellery worn by Princess Diana at a special performance of Swan Lake only months before she passed away.
A picture of the Princess wearing the platinum diamond necklace, designed by the Crown Jeweller and Garrard, was on the front of People Magazine's 1998 yearbook.
Though she did not wear the earrings, they will be auctioned with the necklace as they are a part of the set.
According to the auction's website, the set is said to be worth between $1.5 million and $2.5 million.
