The 2010 Shenzhen International Jewellery Fair took place over the weekend with plenty of exhibitors showcasing their platinum jewellery pieces.
The five-day event (September 15th to 19th) in China was attended by many in the jewellery industry, from wholesalers and distributors to designers and wearers.
Also last week, local jewellery firm Fuqi announced the opening of a new showroom of 10,000 square feet – three times bigger than its previous premises – allowing the company to show its expanded collection of platinum jewellery and others.
Yu Kwai Chong, chairman of FUQI International expressed his delight at its opening.
"We believe this new showroom will strengthen our image and enhance business opportunities with new and existing customers and solidify our leadership position in China's wholesale jewellery business," he said.
Fuqi already has a number of jewellery outlets under its umbrella, including four branches in Beijing alone.
The company aims its products at China's "younger, urban customers", according to its website.
