Cate Blanchett wowed observers at the Cannes Film Festival when she wore platinum jewellery to her film premiere.
The Australian actress opted for two platinum and diamond bracelets by Van Cleef & Arpels as she stepped onto the red carpet for the first showing of 'Robin Hood' in the French city.
In the film, Blanchett appears as Lady Marion, alongside Russell Crowe, who plays the titular hero.
Other stars of the movie, which follows in the footsteps of countless versions of the legend of Robin Hood, include Matthew Macfadyen, Mark Strong and William Hurt and it is directed by Ridley Scott.
Blanchett has previously made her name by featuring in a wide range of films, including 'The Gift', 'Veronica Guerin' and the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy.
However, she has probably attracted the most plaudits for her portrayals of Queen Elizabeth in 'Elizabeth' and 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age', receiving Oscar nominations on both occasions.
