Platinum Guild International USA announces the debut of the "Platinum Wedding Gown"

PGI USA presents "Platinum Wedding Gown", an exclusive collaboration between leading wedding planner and host of WEtv's "My Fair Wedding," David Tutera, and renowned jewelry designer, Erica Courtney.

This one-of-a-kind platinum wedding gown was revealed as the grand finale at David Tutera's highly anticipated runway fashion show introducing the new "David Tutera by Faviana" wedding dress collection on September 22, 2009, at Gotham Hall in New York City. With a platinum-colored tulle veil and bouquet to match, the "Platinum Wedding Gown" was a show-stopper and the pinnacle of his new collection. The dress is ornamented with 10 feet of platinum chain, 33 carats of diamonds, 145.84 carats of aquamarine, white keshi pearls and topped with a stunning white south sea pearl pendant suspended from platinum. .
"I wanted the final dress to be truly awe-inspiring to capture the inspiration and excitement every bride should feel," said Tutera, whose bridal gowns are inspired by the latest red carpet fashions. "To do this, I chose to add platinum jewelry to one of my favorite gowns in my collection."

Jewelry designer to the stars, Erica Courtney, used her artistic eye and inspiration from her Drop Dead Gorgeous(R) platinum collection to create every woman's dream wedding gown. The sweetheart neckline and cascading white roses down the front of the dress are highlighted by stunning Erica Courtney(R) platinum jewelry.
"I didn't think anything could make this dress more beautiful; it's already absolute perfection. As I looked at the dress the first thing that came to mind was platinum, because not only is platinum the most appropriate metal for weddings, but the crushed diamond look of pure platinum is such a shock of incomparable beauty. Only platinum's second-to-none quality and natural whiteness could be the perfect complement to Gorgeous & Engaged(TM) jewelry I added to the gown. Call me traditional, but we added something fabulously blue to make every brides dream come true."
"Platinum is simply the best," said Tutera. "It is enduring, timeless and classic, and it's fantastic for wedding jewelry. It's the most precious of all metals and lasts a lifetime, making it the perfect symbol for an everlasting marriage."

This one of a kind platinum wedding dress is valued at $501,640.00 and is available for purchase at Michael C. Fina at 545 Fifth Ave New York, NY.

Leading watch manufacturers continue to offer new models in platinum

Platinum watches showcases limited-edition platinum watches from some of the most prestigious watch manufacturers who have launched a new top of the range platinum model for 2009-2010. At a time when non-essential and luxury goods have suffered a considerable downturn, the shiny discretion of pure platinum continues to triumph.

Beyond the financial value that it brings, the intrinsic value of platinum also allows watch companies to convey their own values of excellence and craftsmanship. Naturally white and highly durable, platinum will maintain its promise over time, enduring the wear and tear of the years. Only such a noble metal can mark grand occasions.
2009 presented many such occasions with, amongst others, the launch of Bulgari’s commemorative series celebrating 125 years of the company, or the series created by Omega to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first landing on the Moon.

The strongest of settings, platinum is also used by brands such as Harry Winston or Boucheron to hold diamonds and precious gems in place, or as a frame for enamels, as is done to perfection by Jaeger-LeCoultre, Ulysse Nardin and Van Cleef & Aprels.

A platinum watch case offers added value to watchmakers, emphasising the special nature of each movement and protecting it with its solid sheen. It is then no coincidence if luxury brands turn to platinum, adding a touch of magic to their most exclusive watches, boasting tourbillions and other important mechanical complications.
