Platinum Jewellery Dominates the Red Carpet at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards

A-list television stars opted for classic elegance at the Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, wearing an array of platinum jewellery from simple stud earrings to stacked cuff bracelets.

Lea Michele wore a platinum and multi-colored mesh diamond necklace, two platinum and champagne diamond bracelets, and a pair of platinum and champagne diamond stud earrings (10 carats) by Lorraine Schwartz.




Emily Blunt complimented her platinum engagement ring and wedding band by Neil Lane with a platinum and diamond bangle, platinum and diamond ring, platinum and diamond flower hair pin, and a pair of platinum and diamond stud earrings by Lorraine Schwartz.




Kim Kardashian also opted to wear platinum jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz. She sparkled in a platinum cuff with champagne and white diamonds (80 carats), platinum and diamond stud earrings (15 carats), platinum and diamond pinky ring (8 carats), and platinum and diamond hair pins.



Kelly Osborne looked elegant in a pair of platinum earrings with black diamonds (14 carats each) complimented by a set platinum bracelets with black and white diamonds by Martin Katz.




Tina Fey wore a platinum and black diamond tassel bracelet by Lorraine Schwartz.



Glee actress, Dianna Agron looked very elegant in a pair of platinum earrings with 246 brilliant-cut diamonds and 2 briolette diamonds (2.54 carats) by Cartier.



Other stars to step out on the red carpet wearing platinum included January Jones, Amy Poehler, Julie Bowen, Dianna Argon, Jessalyn Gilsig, Elisabeth Moss, Tina Fey, Kyra Sedgwick, Lauren Graham, Heather Morris, Cheryl Hines, Jenna Fisher, Keri Russell, Jennifer Carpenter, Connie Britton and Holland Taylor.

Jayma Mays stands out in platinum at pre-Emmy party

Actress Jayma Mays glimmered in platinum jewellery at the Entertainment Weekly Women In Film pre-Emmy party in Los Angeles on Saturday night (August 27th).

The star, who plays Emma Pillsbury in Glee, was one of a host of celebrities to attend the bash at the Sunset Marquis hotel to celebrate the work of the female Emmy nominations.

Ms Mays, who arrived with fellow Glee star Jessalyn Gilsig, chose to compliment her black lace dress with a pair of 13-carat platinum and diamond drop earrings by Chopard.

A week earlier, Ms Mays also wore the designers' jewellery at another pre-Emmy party at Cecconi's restaurant in Los Angeles.

Originally famed for its watches, Chopard is now a leading jewellery designer and is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

In June, the company launched its red carpet collection filled with jewellery pieces worn by the world's leading actresses at the Cannes film festival this year. Chopard was the main sponsor of the event.

Platinum is the "ultimate precious metal" according to award-winning designer

Platinum is the "ultimate precious metal" to work with, according to an award-winning jewellery designer and retailer.

Design graduate Steve Parsons worked with trained jeweller Kevin Rogers to start Simon Pure in the 1980s. Nearly 30 years on, the company won the Platinum Bridal Collection of the Year 2009 at the UK Jewellery Awards.

Parsons told Retailer Jeweller that the "industry Oscar", as he called it, created a massive increase in engagement, wedding and eternity ring sales. He added that he enjoys using platinum because of its long-lasting qualities.

"I love the weight and the feel and quality of the piece at the end, but it's also such a lovely metal to work in," he said.

"You can do refined work with it because it's very strong and also solder it because it withstands heat. And it suits our designs."

At the time of the award, presented to him at Grovesnor House in Park Lane, London, last year, Parsons said that he was surprised but "over the moon" that the company's work had been recognised for the prestigious category.

Tia Mowry walks Los Angeles red carpet wearing platinum earrings

American actress Tia Mowry added glamour to the red carpet of a pre-Emmy party in Los Angeles last week by wearing a pair of platinum earrings.

The Sister, Sister star was at the Audi and Chopard bash at Cecconi's restaurant on Sunday August 22nd along with a host of other celebrities, including Jayma Mays and Nicole Scherzinger.

Ms Mowry chose to wear 19-carat platinum and diamond chandelier earrings by Chopard to go with her knee-long dress and curled hair.

Twin sister Tamera Mowry will also be sparkling in jewelry next year as she prepares for her wedding day.

Tamera told E! News that she and fiancee, Fox News correspondent Adam Housley, will marry in Napa, California in May 2011, with Tia acting as her maid of honor.

"We want this wedding to respect us. I was courted in Napa and fell in love with the city," she told the entertainment news source.

Erike Christensen shines on the red carpet with two platinum rings

Actress Erika Christensen stood out on the red carpet in Los Angeles last week, sporting two platinum rings to go with her dark blue dress.

The star of Traffic, Swimfan and The Perfect Score arrived at the 62nd Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which acknowledge excellence in US primetime television programming, to find plenty of photographers after her picture.

And she did not disappoint, displaying two natural rough diamond rings. Between the two, the platinum pieces totalled 9.77 carats and had micro pave diamond accents.

Both rings were by Diamond in the Rough, a company launched in 2003 that is now a leading pioneer in using uncut and unpolished diamonds.



The jewellery designer sells a number of bridal and general platinum rings and has become increasingly popular in the fashion world.

The Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 29th August where stars will grace the red carpet and, no doubt, display more sparkling jewellery.

Nicole Scherzinger dazzles in platinum at pre-Emmy bash

Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger attended this year's Audi and Chopard Emmy week kick-off party wearing a series of dazzling platinum jewelry pieces.

The star arrived at the event at Cecconi's in Los Angeles sporting three different sets of platinum by Chopard to go with her black dress.

She wore her hair back to reveal a pair of 33-carat platinum and diamond earrings. In addition, Ms Scherzinger also displayed a 33-carat platinum and diamond bracelet along with a platinum ring.







The celebrity has been busy in recent months having made an appearance as guest judge during the audition stages for UK talent show The X-Factor, and returning for another week in the place of Cheryl Cole who had contracted malaria.

After winning Dancing With The Stars in America earlier this year, she had a stint in the Los Angeles production of Rent. She played the character of Maureen at the Hollywood Bowl for three days earlier this month.

Anna Paquin gets married a year after receiving platinum engagement ring

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer wed on Saturday evening in California, a year after the actor proposed to his True Blood co-star with a beautiful diamond and platinum engagement ring.

The couple married at a private residence in Malibu at the weekend in front of family and friends, according to USmagazine.com. Guests included Elijah Wood and Carrie Preston with husband Michael Emerson.

Moyer co-designed the engagement ring – a rustic diamond set in an antiqued platinum inset – with Los Angeles designer Cathy Waterman before proposing to Paquin on a Hawaiian beach.

The 1.5 carat diamond piece of jewelry is said to be worth $50,000.

Platinum engagement rings have become very popular among celebrities. At the end of June country music star Blake Shelton proposed to Miranda Lambert with a stunning platinum ring.

Additionally, actress Megan Fox and Charlene Wittstock were both presented with platinum engagement rings by their husbands-to-be in June this year.
